The reason he was replaced was because of the state of his cancer. Initially when it looked like he was going to recover they delayed filming of the second series to wait for him and made a prequel instead. Reaper Posted September 13, 2011 Author Share Posted September 13, 2011 The producers of the show waited till Andy got better but sadly that never happened.they filmed the prequel to buy some time for him.Its a sad story and especially for a man of only 39 years.Puts all our troubles in the shade doesn't it.The new series will go ahead with a new actor,Liam something or another i forgot his name but the story will continue in honour of Andy.Thank you Andy for giving us one of the greatest show i have ever seen on the box,i truly do mean that too.Spartacus was and is an awesome experience.Rest in peace Andy.God bless.
