Yay passed it today!

As normal when I turned Up I was the only one out of the three who hasnt had bike experience, 16 year old had more exp than me...

But when we got shown the bikes I knew most hehe from this forum : )

Was grinning on the way, while listening to the presentation, and when going out on the road, although before we got the industrial estate to learn how to bike properly I was crapping myself! (since we had to bike it there with just about knowing how to change gear)

As I kept jolting it, had problems with the clutch as my instructor said :) says I keep doing it like I want to wheelie. Also stated that I do the racing lane through roads which isnt the safe way hehe. but was a good experience!

And omg bikes are hard to learn >.<, trying to do figures of eight on a bike is hard lol, kept doing giant figures as just coudnt stear it. Also putting it on stand was impossible, had a 5ft girl instructor do it for me which was embrassing enough

But very good experience :).. Got to 55mph on the road, but very enjoyable!. stalled every gear through, but after a while I got use to it :)

Now shopping around for a cheap 125 till doing mods

Good idea to get a 125 over winter! I have past my test but keeping my new 600cc off the road till the roads get through their worst.

£600 may be a bit of a budget, and im sorry to say will probably not be enough if you haven't factored in winter kit and insurance. £600 for a good condition geared bike may be a bit of a push as it is, but have a look around and see how much you can barter off the asking price. Just bare in mind you probably wont be able to get anything in good condition for that. However I got my first 100cc scooter in fairly good condition for £650 so its not impossible

Any bike you look at, have a look at reviews of them. There are some on this forum, or just type in the name of the bike + "review" into google. Many cheap bikes will be chinese, but there are a few reasons not to own a chinese bike, the main ones being reliability and that replacement parts can be hard to find, so do your research before buying because it could pay off in the long run.

Also remember there is no such thing as a stupid question on the forum... Well there is, but the worst response you will get is a stupid, sarcastc answer from collin the bear because he thinks he is funny (he is) but don't be afraid to ask, we dont bite much

Most questions I have has been answered since being here so hopefully be ok!, but I know once i get a bike I'll have another 1,000 questions

Congrats....you'll need the new bike before April (for the Shakedown.... 8-) )....

You may need to pay a bit more to get something reasonable....but remember it won't depreciate unless you trash it....so it would make a nice down payment against your next bike after you pass your test..... 8-)

Sorry mate....just saw the date of your original post. I thought it was a bit odd as I remember you saying your Uncle got you a CG125 for Christmas. So all systems go for the Shakedown. And you can get yourself some of those challenge 100 points too.... 8-)
