eastanglianbiker Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 could be a number of different problems welcome to the forum pop into newbies and say hi Quote
cb350sg Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 hmmm.... it could just be a dudd battery. Maybe it's time to replace. If the batterys relatively new, then I suggest you check your alternator next.Get yourself a multimeter, only about £15? something like that.Connect it up to your battery terminals whilst theyr'e still in the bike, it should read about 12 volts. Now turn your engine on, the voltage should now read about 14 - 15 volts.Flick your lights onto high beam etc. and check the multimeter again, might drop slightly but shouldnt drop much.If you're getting really poor reading maybe it's time to replace your alternator Quote
Tango Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Welcome to the forum...... Check the battery terminals are tight and not corroded.....may just be a loose connection.... Quote
Guest Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Just bought a new battery so I will check the alternator thanks Quote
megawatt Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 Welcome Andy. Also check the reg/rec, normally runs hot , but too hot and there's a dark brown smell. Check wires into it and make sure there,s a good bolted connection to metal. Quote
