Guest Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 There's no point using the manual kick start at all. so i just keep turning the electric start in intervals, it takes some time, eventually it will start to murmur, then finally i can get it to a point when it can be accelerated and get the engine roaring a bit, then its fine.but whyyyyyy does it take so long just to start. are the revs set too low?? its not because its too cold (i live in bangkok) anyway im a novice, tell me straight, what can i do so it starts first time!!!!p.s. ive taken it to the garage but they speak Thai, i speak English, if i knew what it was then i could get the message translated and then they would know what to do!!!Thanks (i joined this forum just to get this answered!!! hopefully will use it from now on for its wealth of knowledge) Quote
megawatt Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 A bike will start with the right fuel, the right ignition timing and spark and the right compression. Check how much compression it has. Check for a good blue spark. Check ignition is firing at the right time. Replace fuel with fresh and make sure no water, rust, crud in tank. Check fuel filter inside tank is not blocked. this is all basic mate. Buy a workshop manual? Quote
Tiggie Posted June 30, 2012 Posted June 30, 2012 air filter needs replacing/cleaning perhaps? Bike running too rich for Bangkok weather? Quote

Tango Posted July 1, 2012 Posted July 1, 2012 Does the bike have a manual choke? Even in a warm climate you'll need a bit of choke to get it started. If it's like the CG125 the choke lever is on the side of the carb.....fully down is off.....1 click up is half choke and fully up is maximum choke. Max choke to get it started...then as soon as it is running take it down to Half choke and warm it for a minute or 2....then choke fully off. Quote
