Anyone know the diameter for a standard 2005 650 bandit exhaust system? I've been offered a Delkovic can and link pipe off a 600. I know the standard 600 stuff will fit straight on, but I don't know whether this particular pipe is standard, so if anyone knows the standard diameter, it would be appreciated. :)

It should be the same but don't quote me on that

If its cheap then get it you can always get the link pipe made to fit

The can's a steal, since it's a mate offering it, the link pipes are coming anywhere between £30 and £70. I'm rather hoping it fits.

I've heard somewhere that the standard is 50.8mm and I've had a text saying the inlet on the pipe is 50mm? Might try it, but if it's not going to work, then I'll speak nicely to megawatt. I find out Sunday.

Yes Nell, most aftermarket silencer Inside Diameter is 50.8mm(2"), but not all are. I will need standard linkpipe outside diameter, if it's possible to use that. If not , I will need replacement linkpipe Outside Diameter. If neither will work I will need the collector O/D, one of the linkpipes to check angles and the silencer I/D.

See depending on where they was measured they just might fit ;-)

I think on the bandit the link pipe goes in to the collector so the link pipe outer diameter would have to be slightly smaller then the collector inside diameter

"on the bandit the link pipe goes in to the collector" hhmmm, that's not the usual way of doing it? :?

I'm pretty sure it does mega I will have a look at some pipes I have tomorrow

I thought it was odd when I saw it

Thanks Stu. Wonder if Delkevic linkpipe is supposed to go inside or outside. I'm sure we can sort it. Can anybody loan Nell some digital calipers for Sunday?

I think I'll hang off for now, thanks guys. I'm sorry but i'm not prepared to go to the cost of buying a whole load of equipment, that will get used rarely and ramp up the initial cost. It's just not worth it. :)

If things work out right it may cost you nothing extra or just a few quid. Don't give up now if it's a bargain?

Just get it Nell it won't cost a lot to make fit and I think it will fit anyway

I bow to your superior knowledge Stu. Just had a look at a few 650 and 600 exhaust systems and all the linkpipes look like they plug IN to the collector and have a fairly thick wire wound gasket. If it is not an exact fit, I am positive we can sort it out without the need for another linkpipe. BUY IT NELL!!!

firstly, I would have thought it would fit

secondly, if its off a mate can you not just ask if you could borrow it first to see if its a fit before buying?

Yeah that's what I'm going to do. I'll pick it up tonight. He was bringing it up on Sunday to fit it, but then he went 'oh it's off a 1250', so it's screwed everything up. I think the headache because he was offered it by someone else for his own bike, which is a 600, didn't need it, but knew I'd probably go for it, as I was considering changing from the standard can, so accepted it on my behalf, sort of thing. Try and look at it at some point, in between being up to my knees in newborn lambs.
