Smokin Joe Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 The vent in the fuel filler cap on my ancient GPZ500 is well cruded up. I can poke both ends clear but obviously not the whole way through as it apparently wanders round the houses. I thought of soaking it in one of these cleaning thingies Mrs SJ has in her kitchen, Oxy Magic or some such. It does a grand job on the kettle, would it damage anything in the cap? Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 can you not get the tube/straw of a can of wd40 into it and blast it throuh with that Quote

Colin the Bear Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 A little contamination of your fuel with WD40 or similar won't do any harm. I'm not sure that a drop of cillit bang in the tank would be a good idea. Quote
uk190 Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I'm pretty sure wd40 would do zero harm to your engine or carbs. Why would it ? Especially a tiny drop that might slash into the tank. Id be more worried about the crud falling in. Quote
