not a prayer mate, much as i do love riding, 800 in a weekend is quite enough for me , a thousand in less than 24 hours would cripple me.

good luck if you decide to go ahead tho, keep us updated

Just seen this

I hope you made it, I did the first one in '09 and I know how much I felt that I had acomplished something at the end.

And raising money for a damn good cause.

If you did it I raise my glass to you

If not  , better luck next year :D

Any bike is suitable, it has over the years been done on anything from a C90 to Rocket III's, that diverse

I had an XV1100 Dragstar, I would avoid anything that you can't move around a bit on, that said plenty of sports bikes have done it.

Read up on the event last night - great cause and a hell of a challenge.

I've only been riding 5 months, and my longest trip was 1200miles over 4 days which knackered me. So I honestly don't think I could do this, but have great admiration for anyone who can. I'd be happy to sponsor you if you're going for it chaps.

For the RBLR Saddlesore 1000 you can use any route you like but you have to visit the compulsory points and get proof (receipt for fuel or goods), the idea of having pre-planned routes is to make it easier. You only need to average 42mph and it is not a race. Safety is paramount and if you finish in less than 17hrs you will be disqualified as you must have been exceeding the speed limit.
