Im riding it myself at the moment on a CBT, Im just waiting for the engine to explode as the engine has done 17,500 miles but tbh it sounds fine and easily tops 90 which is even cooler since its under the legal limit! Not that i try thrashing it to much, 2 stroke oil ain't cheap!! Ha Quote

My mates are jel of the looks of it i think but moan about the sound until i wizz by them on the dual carriage way haha Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 you cant beat the sight sound and smell of a 2 stroke being ragged to tthe limit vanishing in a cloud of smoke that hangs in the air for5 mins after the bike has gone past Quote
Guest Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 very cool man.I also get my 2 stroke oil from ebay..A 1L bottle of Car lube synthetic oil cost me £4.99 I have my varied opinions on 2 and 4 stroke engines..Prefer the sound and high revving of strokes, plus the fact that they can be modded a lot more..But hate the annoying task of engines rebuilds..Where as 4 strokes, I love because they just run forever..F**cked spark plug, incorrect carb mixtures, and the things still start and run..My 2 stroke on my Pulse Ghost is very annoying..Its a fussy engine..Get a bit of damp in the air and it just does want to stay started.. Nice bike, im hoping to upgrade to another 2 stroke 125 next year, possible a honda nsr 125 or a cagiva mito 125 not sure yet, i just won't accept having a 4 stroke now lol Quote
mattycoops43 Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I remember the TZR250 well, I am an old git remember! 2 strokes have a very different way of working than 4 strokes, no metal valves just a reed valve that is a one way valve for the gases, they need the shape of the exhaust to draw the exhaust gases out of the engine and 2 stroke tuning was always massively about the exhaust shape. Exhausts made by certain people were sought after as it was always considered a bit of a black art!Small diameter means higher gas flow. Quote
