Okay, small issue, can solve it tomorrow. But my battery died due to me forgetting to turn off the ignition switch. How very stupid of me I know.

I can bumpstart the bike fine with a run down the hill, and it will run, tried to charge the battery with the alternator by giving it a good 20 mile ride at high revs but the lights seem to be eating up the power so the battery is charging very slowly.

This battery is relatively new, so can i simply purchase a charger from a local dealer, or should i buy a new battery?

I know that charging old batteries is not a good idea, but again, this battery is quite new and loss of power is a fault of my own and not the battery.

Thanks in advance for your help guys :-)

:stupid:

But once charged and running just check the voltage at the battery.....just to make sure your charging circuit is OK..... 8-)

Between my squishy engine and the weight of the bike, I can bump mine in 2nd by shoving it forward 2ft while I stand over it  Guess I should be grateful!

Haha thanks guys, it's nice to have the support and quick responses on this forum, just reserved a charger with automatic maintenance mode which checks voltage :-)

Cheers,

Sutty.

Hi, Just make sure your new charger is compatible with a bike battery a car battery charger will fry it!

The charger is compatible and has different amperage modes, 3.6Amps should do it for my battery :-)

Lead acid batteries are a git, a fortnight flat & they are half dead, a month & they are skip fodder :crybaby:
