Burgess118 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Just to check,Is it still leather only on trackdays policy? I've got some good textiles, just wondering why it has to be leathers? If it is leathers only, well that's the birthday sorted Quote
Mr Fro Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Depends where you go and at what level. In my experience Some places are fine with textile on novice days but get more strict as the pace increases.Leather tends to slide when you hit the tarmac where as textile, apparently, grips which can flip you about a bit. littlecat Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 road bike only days, or novice only , may allow full zip together textiles, but most others will want either zip together ( full zip not part) or one piece leathers Quote
mattycoops43 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Having come off in textiles, I would not want to be going on a track in them. If you're not trying to go a bit quick on a track what's the point? and if you're going a bit quick there is a higher chance of coming off. Quote
littlecat Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 leather also can be worn much more tightly fitting than textile, therefore keeping your armour exactly where you need it, and because the leather fits more closely its less likely to move around and cause skin abrasion itself...much more likely in textiles ( just my humble opinion)plus it looks better and smells great Quote
Hunter Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I ride with textiles because I find them warmer and more comfortable but having crashed with them I also wouldn't want to be pushing myself around a track. If nothing else what is comfortable on the road for 7 hours will be cumbersome when riding aggressively for 10 minutes. Quote
