Guest Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 I'm new to motorbikes and am looking for my first pair of boots.I don't like the majority of the new motorbike boot styles and wondered if these would be adequate http://www.loake.co.uk/loake-1880/bedale.html Quote
Tiggie Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 They wouldn't last long just doing gear changes never mind in an off imo you can get regular boot looking gear or even an old pair of doc martins or army boots would be better Quote
Tiggie Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 How about these? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=291039280290 Quote

Joeman Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Sometimes have to sacrifice looks for practicality. Get yourself down to the london excel show 14-16 feb and see if theres any you like.Suspect its just a spammer spreading links to their overpriced shoe website. Quote
Tango Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I'm not so sure that this is the case Joeman.......Loake are a big shoe company (Part of the Clarkes group I think).....so I don't think they would be spamming a bike forum....... In answer to the OP's question........bike boots are designed and developed to offer maximum protection to sensitive areas of the feet and ankles in the event of an accident. They are also designed to have reinforcement around the gear change areas and many have waterproofing. My Sidi's have ankle, heel and shin protection.....and metal reinforcement in the arch of the foot......they are designed to do a specific job......so personally I don't think the boots in your link are particularly suitable for use on a bike.....
