NooBish-AbbZ Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Hi guys, picked up my SV650 on friday and one of the extras i had added was an S4 Red. After having read through the book I can't find what I want the alarm to do. I want it to obviously stop someone hot-wiring my bike, but more importantly, I want the alarm to go mental if someone tries to move my bike. At the moment, I can set the alarm, and even while it's 'armed' i can stand the bike up, move it around, shake it about and the alarm dosent sound. What the hell is the point in that. In the book, there's a mention of 'motion sensor' but only how to turn it off? Hopefully I'm missing something pretty damn obvious so anyone who can help please do:( Quote
Mr Fro Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 How long are you giving it after you arm it before you start doing the rumba with your bike? Most alarms have a set period before they fully arm to save it going bonkers while you move it around after you shut it off. Quote
Stu Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 Are you setting the alarm or immobiliser? It has both I have one fitted And once you do set the alarm you have to wait a few seconds before it will do anything Then you probably get a few beeps first when you start to move it Quote
NooBish-AbbZ Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 I've tried wiating for 30 seconds for it to set itself (just the immob. i believe) then I've tried setting normally (indicators flashing twice) and i've tried arming (2 flashes) then pressing other button within 10 seconds ( a further 3 flashes) but still no sound if i start shaking. It did once go off if i stood the bike up fully, but i'm not too sure how i did it Quote
Stu Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 you can't just disarm it then re-arm it to set the alarm either you have to power the bike on don't have to start it full arming: press the GREY button on the remote control within 45 seconds of turning the ignition off. The indicators will flash twice.wait for 30 seconds then kick it/stand it up/move it ....delete as appropriate Quote
NooBish-AbbZ Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 I'm looking at the full manual online now (bike only came with a shortened version) and says the alarm fully arms 20 seconds after pressing the button, so, going to go and see if i can get it to make lots of noise in a moment Quote
Stu Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 if you had said I could have sent you it so to recap ignition on back off again hit the grey button watch for two flashes and leave then move it s4_ug.pdf Quote
NooBish-AbbZ Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 It shouted at me, excellent Sorted it Quote
Stu Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 operator error then sounds like it immobilises the bike after you turn the ignition off then Quote
NooBish-AbbZ Posted March 4, 2014 Author Posted March 4, 2014 yep, the idiot behind the key rather than the equipment Thanks Stu Quote
