So, apart from a good chain, D Lock, garage what else can we secure our bikes with?

Already looking at installing a tracking system

Apparently they are easy to install, and can be hooked up to your bike battery meaning it always has a charge, as well as being able to view on Google maps as well as listening in to where and whoever may have it.

Immobilizers? Anchors?

Any other suggestions.... Because i really want to make sure she is good..

I know I know, if they want to get it they can, but no harm in trying to stop them in their filthy little tracks!

A gunshot to the hands would be the next best tbh.

Have just been reading through the searches..

I like the idea of guard dogs but perhaps a little too unpractical.

Does anyone have any good links to a good motorbike alarm, do they work like any other alarm, if you as much move it or bang it it starts ringing, also, what about mobile devices being alerted? So the minute you have your bike moved you get a message or an alert of some sort? ?

A simple cover is an effective security measure. The bike looks less interesting and deters kids or someone unscrewing a mirror and taking that.

I use Datatag on my bikes. It is a visual deterrent to an acquisitive bike thief as they know it will be harder to sell the bike or the parts on.

Joyrider thieves are best deterred with a stout ground anchor and chain.

I gave up with an alarmed disc lock as it would go off with the slightest of breezes and no body bothers with alarms anymore.

I've got factory fitted Immobiliser, Datatag, and Bike Trac (GPS tracker with SMS and email alerting). A disc lock is under the passenger seat, so that's available if I park the bike somewhere out of my sight. When I'm not riding, it's in my garage, which is in the backyard in plain sight of a number of flats and only accessible through a massive iron gate.

But to be honest, these are all just deterrents to the occasional crook and measures to reduce insurance premium. A pro thief will get your bike, no matter what.

I am rather worried about that too, despite all those measures, because my bike being new and apparently rather rare on English roads, seems to attract a lot of interest when I'm out and about. Or maybe British riders are just more curious and a lot more polite than what I'm used to :)

Garage, baby monitor, hammer and a bad temper is all the security I need. :D

Datatool alarm with immobiliser and they add on module that calls u when the bike is tampered with

Ground anchor, chain, disc lock & a cover. As already said above a cover hides what bike is underneath for all they know it could be a shitty 50cc Chinese cheese ped or a 1000cc monster machine, also makes a noise when it's removed!

Don't have an alarm, looked at them in the past but no one pays attention to them.

I use a basic but reliable cyclone alarm via ebay for under £30 and a Datatool Snitcher which texts me if anyone tampers with it.

Disk lock and a cover on it, so far so good.

I've got insurance.

Anything else needs too much faffing around to make it worth my while, although I do usually remove the key when it's parked.

Though there are parts of Argyll where even removal of the keys is considered unnecessary!
