Speedo all over the place

Went for an early morning ride and stopped at McDonald's for a quick breakfast, when I got back on my bike the speedo was all over the place jumping from anything like 7 to 35 to 46. It seems okay if I keep a constant speed although it jumps around a bit but generally stays the same but when I let go of the throttle it drops to 0 was working fine before I stopped!

Any ideas?

sounds like you have a bad connection somewhere

Like Stu said a bad connection or the speed sensor is on its way out. I had this on my old '02 CBR600F. I think it was about £135 for new one fitted, but that was about 5/6 years ago

Check the earth wires onto the back of the clocks. I had this recently on the storm, a couple weeks without the fairing fitted allowed the connections on the back of the clocks to corrode, instant jumpy speedo. Clean up and some wd40 then grease on top afterwards,
