Psychybikey
I can now get into and out of SECOND GEAR without wobbling, swerving, panicking, stalling or crashing!Everything is much smoother. The instructor says my only problem is in my head and all I need is more self-belief Another lesson next week. I wish I'd done this months ago. I spent a lot of today's lesson practising the gear changes, trying to remember to let go of the clutch (I made the bike sound like one of those cars driven by an old lady who just uses it for church on Sundays and bridge on Wednesdays, and wonders why the clutch needs replacing every 5,000 miles), and getting really smooth stops and starts. Reasonably pleased with myself

MissBex
Well done, Keep it up!!! It's all positive progress so that's awesome ^_^Don't worry, use the clutch to help control the bike at slow speeds, If I was told correctly, I think they are different from cars as they have a 'wet clutch' (?) So they don't get worn out like a car would if you was constantly riding it. (Did I get that right? haha)At least the weathers been holding up, hopefully it'll stay nice for longer still. mailee66
Well done, keep it up. You are improving with each lesson now. Yes, a bike clutch is designed to be slipped without any damage. That lever is your best friend when riding slowly.
