Just had my Mod 1. A car park spin around yet the most nerve racking moment ive ever felt. A few failed today prior to my turn, increasing those nerves.

Seems making speed gets to a lot causing easy fails.

I passed and i wished the others did too. They were nice guys.

Now Mod 2 is in two weeks. I feel nothing for it. Not sure if thats a good thing. I was bricking my mod 1. The figure of 8, avoidance and emergency stop. Unnatural skills on the bike i rarely practiced.

But the mod 2. Its the same road that ive used for 10 years in a car and 2 years ive already ridden on with a bike. Just got to keep cool, over exagerate my obs skills, position well and keep in the correct lane.

Any thing that might throw me? Any good advice going?

give it time, the only time I recall nerves was greeting the examiner shortly prior to the show me tell me's...

however they calmed down as soon as we pulled off

I kind of get where you're coming from, The mod 1 seems so much more like a "test" where as the mod 2 feels like a normal ride out aside from the instructor tellig you where to go!

My advice, if you already have a bike, just go on ride outs around town especially the town you'll do your test on, and get at least 2 days with your instructor on the bigger bike, I did 2 full days and i felt very comfortable as we had covered the "tricky" junctions and other known fail spots, when the ride occured it was fine. Remember ride sensibly and look ahead, Better to wait behind a parked car than to squeeze through a small gap, Better to not get through the lights than to race past them as they turn red, Shake the instructors hand to, makes you seem like more of an adult (IMO!) Also wear good looking appropriate gear, Jeans and a hoody? Jog on, leather pants or textiles trousers and a nice jacket with boots and gloves? Top banana.

I found mod one a lot trickier. It felt more of a test.

I reckon I could fail it if I tried it tomorrow.

Mod two I had nerves but they don't affect you as much as when you have to do slow manouvres round cones.

I just did my mod2 and I too preferred it to the mod 1. As you say it's just a steady ride out remember your lifesavers cancelling indicators etc I personally wasn't happy with my ride nerves got to me a bit as I was meeting every possible hazard but I passed with two minors one for hesitation and the other for use of controls so even if you think you have messed it up you might not have :-)

Congrats mate, feels good dont it? I passed mine two weeks ago.

Its quite an achievment getting a motorcyle license these days considering all the CBT THEORY MOD1 MOD2 tests we have to go through. Each one carries sleepness nights and nerve wracking mornings.

Well done, job done.
