This will be like death wobble on my car.

A number of things can contruibute to making it.

If they look like they need changing then change them.

death wobble

You hit 45/7 mph and the car try's to flip itself. Only at that speed though lol.

I'm going to try and pre load the bearings with some shims because when I fit my oversized mud terrain tyres it dosnt happen.

No I don't think so, never checked tbh. But it's been there since I owned it.

It's quite a common fault on them.

Can be caused by a few things and on some of the jimny forums people have replaced everything and it's still there.

Il check the wheels when I swap to MUDs soon.

Have the wheels been balanced? Are the weights still attached?

Yes and yes. All 4 wheels was balanced.

Its a common problem. Google jimny death wobble and loads comes up.

Sounds bearing related if messing with them fixes it!

But it only happening at a certain speed is a bit odd :?

Usually the balance is out badly when that happens.

Have you looked at the universal joints on the prop shaft? Are they all lined up because if they arnt you will get a feedback through that and it eont be cured by anything but removing and re aligning splines correctly. Long shot i know but worth a check

Pre loading the bearings should sort it, putting the bigger tyres on puts extra loads the bearings and it dissapears then. It means the life of the bearings is shorter but i change them in the summer. Usually dirt and water can get pushed by the seals when greenlaning.

When i swapped the bearings over last time the swivel joint felt abit slack so prelading them should stiffen them up.

I dont need a thread, or have a bent wheel.
