red imp Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Yamaha Fazer FZ1 (2010) This morning traveling to work I noticed that my dash display was not showing , intermitently on the ride to work the dash kept coming back to life with the start up routine of rev needle going to the top and back and the digital readout running through its check routine but within a few minutes the dash would die again!!! on the way home from work the dash was like a mobile disco. does anyone have a clue what the problem might be and if possible a remedy to fix the problem?? thank you in advanced for any advice received. Mr Fro Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Sounds like a dodgy connection somewhere. That or the battery is on the way out. Quote
red imp Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 It is a new battery and starts on the button , headlights and indicators work fine, it is just the Dashboard Quote
Stu Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 sounds like a wiring issue to me check all the multiplugs Quote
red imp Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 I would do Stu if I knew what and where to look , my mechanical knowledge is virtually non existent. Thanks for the advice tho , much appreciated. Quote
Stu Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 ah!! well nows the time to learn what I do find odd is that the bike is still running when the clocks cut out they usually all work with the bike and the bike cuts out too! Quote
Tango Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 Speed Triples have a problem of water getting into the display module which eventually causes corrosion on the pcb and the thing packs up.......not funny at £800 a shot....... So, may be the same sort of thing if you can't find any probs with the connectors going to the display unit. Quote
