Guest Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Anyway, he needs to use his bike a bit more - he was trying to accelerate hard and then shifting half way through his range!? Maybe he's concerned his engine would be damaged if he took it past 7k RPM... weird. I was wondering if it was restricted??Yes it did. A rider that was afraid to use his engine Quote

It does sound like an ECU restrictor as it sounds quite unwilling and the guys hand on the throttle is quite snappy as if hes just cracking it wide open.Quarter mile for both bikes when raced is 10.3 seconds for the R1 and 12 seconds for the ER6. If that ER6 was going all out, he might have had that one Quote
Tankbag Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I don't know about anyone else but when in that sort of situation (especially when vs a car) I actually find it more fun to make it look like I'm going to gun it - weight the bars, bring the revs up and stare at the lights - then gently saunter off the line as the opponent rips away. There is a brow on the A45 a dual carriageway part in Coventry with a gatso speed camera and a junction to the left just over the brow, just before the brow is a set of lights, when they first installed the camera anyone up for a santapod moment would blast over the brow for a nice photo while you braked and turned left Allegedly Quote

RantMachine Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 This video would be a bit more badass if it had been you riding the restricted ER6 and out racing an R1- as it is, it's a bit like holding the short kid at school at arms length while punching him then bragging to your mates about it Quote

Joeman Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 The 600 will keep up, up to around it's 2nd change (into gear 3) ... then it's adios if an ER6 can stay with your R1 until 3rd gear, then you need a new bike... get yourself an S1000RR. you'll lose the ER6 whilst still in first gear with the front wheel not bothering to touch the road... Tango Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 But it's a bit like the guy in the Ferrari doing 70mph on the motorway........you know he can go faster than you, and he knows he can go faster than you, so there's no need to prove it...... Quote
