Glorian Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I'm slowly changing everything on the bike so i know it's working and fairly new. Can anyone recomend a good set of sprockets and chain brand for my GSF bandit 600? Quote
Glorian Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Was looking into DID chains actually i have heard good things in the past. Will look into those sprockets to. Any preferred vendor? I tend to use Wemoto for parts. Quote
Mr Fro Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I Don't think Wemoto sell Renthal - I got mine from Sportsbikeshop. Good price and quick delivery. Quote
Glorian Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Quick look around both websites.http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... prod/87143orhttp://www.wemoto.com/bikes/suzuki/gsf_ ... ocket_kit/Bit of a price difference at £50 between them. Will see which i want more come pay day Quote
Mr Fro Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Bit of a difference! the JT rear sprockets are steel while the Renthal are aluminium - there are quite a few subtypes types of chain so it's be worth checking which one as this will affect the cost.I've got to say, a 530 chain is pretty hefty for your bike size. If you're going to replace the lot maybe look in to a 525 or 520 set - it'll save a bit of weight and be cheaper although it will wear faster. Quote
RantMachine Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Stuff that, save a few quid:Rear SprocketFront SprocketChainUnder £45 for the lot! What can possibly go wrong? Quote
Glorian Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 There is a C word i'm refraining from using...C...c...Chinese *shudders*. Quote
Stu Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 EBay is usually the cheapest place for D.I.D chains and renthal sprockets Just do your research first! Quote
Pete Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Best price I've ever found was for a DID chain and sprocket kit on Demon Tweaks. So good I bought a chain breaker/riveter at the same time and did it myself! Quote
Glorian Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Been looking into this periodically.Think i'm going to go withhttp://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycl ... heavy-duty25k warranty on it is a nice feature but i wanted to up my rear to 47 and keep my front at 15 for slightly better rpm on my commute hopefully get some better fuel consumption. Also grabbing http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycl ... in-breaker along with it.Will get these on order, fit it, and test it will report back =) Quote
Mr Fro Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Heavy duty! For the chain splitter, you might want to get one that has an adaptor for pushing the rivet plate on the link pins and for flattening out the rivets (if you chain doesn't use a split link). I have one of These and it works well. Quote
Glorian Posted April 2, 2015 Author Posted April 2, 2015 Oh yes, heavy duty. I want to do this once, then not again for a while I have looked into renthal / DID it's a small amount extra but i'm not sure if it's worth it? If i did i was potentially thinking..http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycl ... 0-pitch-oehttp://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycl ... d-anodisedhttp://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcy ... prod/72445Totals an extra tenner more.
