Pbassred Posted March 22, 2019 Posted March 22, 2019 Yes, technology threads move on, but its worthwhile to review against old expectations.I installed Cardo Pactalk slims in his and hers GT-air lids. They work faultlessly together. The voice command works with itself and also "hey google" (as long as google behaves). The only thing that did that was contrary to the instructions was to offset the mic about 30mm off-centre to stop "popping". That said, When the missus breaths hard, it comes through. Quote
Pbassred Posted March 27, 2019 Posted March 27, 2019 For the record …. (and I might do a user review later). The question about how to make voice work, is interesting. They make a lot of the "Hey Cardo/Siri/Google but it doesn't always work. Since I regularly us voice dialing via Bluetooth in my car, I have been trying to figure it out. The trick is to NOT lock your phone!Obviously leaving the screen on is a problem when you put it in your pocket, and it locks automatically anyway , but there is a solution …. for android anyway. Android has "Trusted Devices. I'm using 8.0 so:- go into the settings menu, find "Lock screen" / "smart lock" and in there is "Trusted Devices". Select your Cardo and you're good. It keeps the phone unlocked while you Cardo is connected even when the screen is off. The trick is still to NOT lock your phone manually. i.e. don't press the screen off button because that locks it too. Instead, let it time out.PS the manual is rubbish and the cardo community is not a user forum so you can't ask how to do stuff. Quote
