Sunsprie Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Hi everyone I have my test in 2weeks, been riding my 125 for 3 years but I recently bought a dragstar 650, trouble is I need to collect it, it's only 10mins down the road and the guy can deliver it as he broke his neck.I was thinking of riding her home the short distance that it is, on the off chance I got stopped what would happen? I won't go out on the bike until I pass my test but I do need to bring the bike here in the next few days. Quote
Marky Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Riding without a licence and riding without insurance at a minimum. Plus riding an untaxed vehicle. In short, don't do it; wait until you're licensed or get it delivered. Quote
igingeee Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 it's only 10mins down the road and the guy can deliver it as he broke his neck.. 10 Minutes away isn't worth the hastle and trouble you'd get into if caught, far to much risk. Can't you just go there on foot and sit on the thing and use your feet to push it along the pavement until you get home.. with the temptation to turn the thing on and ride it if you approach a steep hill.Wishful thinking? Sunsprie Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Lol I'd probably be wrecked doing that, I am scared to drive it home, I imagine getting caught and the bike getting crushed, that would just be soul destroying. Quote

Still illegal even if the engine is not running. Quote
fq-craigus Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Get a mate with a van or a biketrailer, not worth binning it or getting caught Quote
igingeee Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Still illegal even if the engine is not running. Not if broken down from what I read.Remove spark plug, fuze or battery? Quote

For example if you recieve a proabition they stipulate at the roadside it must be recovered by lowloader and wheels arnt to touch ground. Quote

Guest Posted March 30, 2015 Posted March 30, 2015 What's your location? Might be able to help out if you're near me. Quote
Sunsprie Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 I'm in Belfast, I was thinking maybe getting my instructor down then I can ride it back with him. Quote
Sunsprie Posted March 30, 2015 Author Posted March 30, 2015 I'm not gonna risk the drive even though it's short, I think I'd be fine but it will probably be the one time in 3 years of riding a bike that I'll get pulled over. Quote
