Rik398 Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Just a quick one. So, the bike is in for its MOT Morrow. Its gone in at the earliest possible time to preserve the MOT exp date. If it were to fail its MOT, am I allowed to ride it home due to it still being covered by the old MOT for another couple of weeks? That way, I can still get home, not have to leave it at a garage over easter weekend, and have enough time to fix it up. Or does it have to stay there? Thanks folks. Quote
runningman Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 The original expiry date still stands. Should it fail, it will still be covered until the current one expires. Quote
Stu Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 While your current mot may cover you if it does fail its recorded as a fail and if you got pulled without doing anything about the failure you could actually find yourself in a bit of trouble! Remember you must keep your vehicle roadworthy at ALL times not just at the time of mot But yes you could ride it home you don't have to have an mot to ride it to and from a pre booked mot test Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 As Stu says you can ride it home and back to mot place but it is not roadworthy to run round on over Easter and will show up on anpr as not having mot due to mot tester recording the fail at the time of testing Quote
bmwdave Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Depending on what it failed on, would you actually want to be running around on it? Quote
Six30 Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 it will pass ... Never had a bike fail to be honest. Quote
Joeman Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 I'm convinced MOTs are getting easier to pass. Quote
