Hey all,

About 40,000 bikes will be at the MayDay run this year, running from London down to Hastings most people go on the Monday morning and come back in the evening.

There is also the Hastings spring fertility festival running on the same weekend.

Some pictures below of previous MayDay events, the last two pictures are :offtopic: of their fertility festival "Jack in the Green" festival is also running over the entire weekend, where the bike event is partially on Sat/Sun and majority on the Monday. 8-)

Let me know if anyone is interested in joining me, I might go down for the day on Monday, or might go down on Sunday to see the fertility parades and go back Monday.

Cheers!

I'm about 25-30 minutes away from Hastings. If I do attent this year, it will be the first time for me with my very own bike. In the past, I have only attended as an observer, not attended with my own set of wheels.

im in maidstone so its not that far, might be able to get a few mates and do a 125 run to hastings

Feeling tempted! May even be able to ride myself if my steering bearings and clutch are fixed by then  . Never been to a *big* rideout event like this, would love to aswell!

Great event last year. Lots of nice bikes to look at and bargain clothing/helmets if you're in the shopping mood.

Seems I didn't do my homework with biking dates this year as I'm most likely going to be on a canal boating holiday for the week.

If the holiday doesn't happen, I'll be all over this for sure.

I don't go anymore and I live 12 miles away. Too many dangerous dickheads around. If you do go, I suggest you arrive before 1000 and avoid the A21. Usually lots of accidents, police and usually a fatality.

Hmm,

I thought it was all pretty well behaved last year.

Yes, there was the odd dickhead with the stupidly loud exhaust and there was indeed an accident i passed on the way home up the A21 where someone had been going too fast around a bend and left the road. Roads didn't seem overly crowded at all to me considering.

I thought on the whole though it was a good day out.

Since there's a few people interested with this around West -South West of London, and if you fancy joining in to do a TMBF run then maybe we could meet at Cobham services along the M25.

If you're signed up to the yearly Challenge, we could stop off and hit one of those along the way too.

I've never really seen any dickheads at this, but maybe I've just been lucky 8-)

We could pop down through Eastbourne and pick up Troy on our way

So, anyone up for it?

I wouldn't be able to go to London on my 125 I don't think. If someone is willing to carry me as a passenger, then on the way back to Hastings from London we could stop off to ride my bike down from there?!

Is that what you had in mind? Or did you mean stop by on the way back from London?

Good luck stuck in traffic!!

I wouldn't fancy taking a car along to one of these.
