Throttled Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 At the Museum of Speed, Pendine, in a case hence the reflections. Still, an object of beauty and great expense as one sold for £286,000. Quote
Guest Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 The site of the workshop is about a mile from me.. sadly long gone. but even so, its odd to think how many times T. E. Lawrence must have ridden up and down that road grinning from ear to ear on his latest "George".price new £172 OTRhttp://thevelvetrocket.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/t-e-lawrences-brough-superior-ss100-motorcycle1.jpgyou might think £172 isn't a lot of money.. as a comparison the top of the range Triumph at the time cost £75. Jnestie Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I hope it had a quick shifter as standered for £286,000. It is a thing of beauty. Quote
Throttled Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Next to the other bikes on display, the Brough looks so well made and finished. Quote
Joeman Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 My grandad had a Brough! If he was still alive I'd show him this.. He'd be laughing his head off. Quote

Mr Fro Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 I used to lust after one of those as a kid. Bit of a shame to see it in a case - I hope it gets ridden every now and again. Quote

Lawrence was riding when he was killed... one side effect of his death. helmet law... though it did take almost 40 years to arrive. Quote
