Guest Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Hi, I have recently bought a 2015 KSR CODE (they have the Suzuki GS125 Engine) and I am just wondering what would be the best way to increase the speed/power a little? Quote
Tango Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Don't.......if you're on a CBT it'll invalidate your insurance and license........and, for the speed gain it'll be marginal.......and will probably blow up too..... Quote
Guest Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I was told to increase the power i need to change cam shaft, carb, and cylinder. What type of power would a 150cc big bore kit add? How many MPH difference does it make ..? Thanks Jay Quote

Thanks inJay Will cost you more to modify the bike than it would to get your full licence. It might give you an extra 10mph if you're lucky but the bike is crap so it won't last for long. The main problem is you are not licenced to ride a 150cc bike. If you get stopped by the police you will get arrested, sent to court, have you licence taken away and get a huge fine. Its not worth it. Pass your test an buy a bigger bike and pass your 125 onto another learner (if its still running) Quote
fq-craigus Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 As said above, also want to add and might sound harsh but..... Lets say you modify the bike and gain the extra power you desire what makes you think you can ride it? Handle it? You have only gained a certificate that you wont kill yourself on a small bike, you havnt had any type of advanced training about cornering, positioning, braking. May sound trivial but another 25cc is quite a step up. Your not licenced for a larger bike nor insured and its people that do these things and 'get caught' which is a possibility that put out insurance up as a whole which is a joke at best as it is. And if you are unlucky enough to have an accident with lets say a cyclist and maime him for life you wont have insurance for him to claim against to help towards the fact he now cant work, walk and needs to modify his house. This may sound extra and over the top but ill be honest im getting tired of these questions about getting more power from a 125cc. When j and many alike have paid the dosh got the licence, pay the insurance and do it properly. Do a das of your of age if not then wait! Quote
Guest Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Hi, Thanks for the comments, its just that I have just bought this 125 for £2000 brand new, and it only does 55MPH if I am lucky, I didn't realise 125's are that slow lol, I one had a 50cc scooter that done 50MPH.Does the speed slightly increase after breaking it in or ? Joeman Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 your 50cc moped was two-stroke and not legal.pass your test and trade it in for a faster bike. Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Get some 'Race Nitro' and fill your tank with it. Press start and use the exploding flames to cook your burgers whilst you look at a list of 600cc bikes and think about booking your test. Quote
RantMachine Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 The GS125 engine is just a lazy engine to start off with, and being a copy rather than the genuine article probably doesn't do it any favours.Have you been following the initial service schedule, including keeping the revs below a certain mark for the first few hundred miles? Stu Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 It appears from previous postings that he isn't listening to any replies so I wouldn't waste time replying Quote
RantMachine Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hey Stu, maybe you should add "big bore kit" to the wordfilter Something a bit likeHey Stu, maybe you should add "NO JUST f**king NO" to the wordfilter Quote
WorminatorII Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 I saw a post about somebody wanting to put an aftermarket exhaust on the same bike #sigh#I have one btw and use it for my journey to work when the weather is crappy! Quote
