Tankbag Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 My bike is in great nick for it's age, but, these bolts have suffered. So can I take them out one by one replacing them before I take the next one out without knackering the caliper or the need to bleed it ? and can I put stainless replacements in ? Any help greatly appreciated http://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa3/tankbag/20150601_113145_resized.jpghttp://i200.photobucket.com/albums/aa3/tankbag/20150601_113203_resized.jpg Quote
Tankbag Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 It's what I'd do. Thanks Mr Fro, have you done this with no probs ? Quote
Chrissb6 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Just crack them all off first, then swop them out one by one Quote

megawatt Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Should be ok mate. Probs only one O ring in there anyway. I'd keep the others tight while you swap one at a time. Tighten that one ,then swap another. Quote

Tankbag Posted June 3, 2015 Author Posted June 3, 2015 I've read SS bolts don't have the same tensile strength as OE bolts, so, would anyone worry about this [emoji378] ?? Quote

If you've not brought them yet this might helphttp://www.pro-bolt.com/stainless-steel ... W6_6XHbJgU Quote

megawatt Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Agree with Chris. Good quality A2 or A4 stainless bolts will be ok. Don't grease the bolt threads though, fit em dry. Quote

Chrissb6 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 According to the reports the latest Busa which is fitted with Brembo's and a ABS system is a bit of a let down. The brakes are fine but apparently the ABS kicks in way to early.I thought that the ABS should only kick in when you see God Quote

I'm not unhappy with my brakes but I do have a trackday sorted for next year Quote
Chrissb6 Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Hi mate the lads on the U/K Busa forum swear by these padsBendix Supersport MF186 apparently there as different as night and day from the stock pads.I've fitted Bendix to the rear of mine and there's a definite improvement, will do the fronts when this set has worn out. This might be worth a punt before you launch yourself into a pricey calliper change. Double check these pads are correct for your bike if you go out and buy.Chris Quote
