Sods law

We are off on holiday in a few days and the washing machine decides to breakdown, currently waiting for the repair man to either fix or condem it. If he condems it we have got the hassle of getting a new one, fitting it and getting rid of the old one, all before Friday.

:damn: :damn: :damn:

Urgh... annoying!

If it is condemned can you not just commandeer a family member or close friends/neighbours washing machine and sort a replacement one out for when you get get back?

Bought one from AO.com, they do take the old one away for you but there is a £14.95 charge for it. Just as there is for the other services they offer, seem a good company though.

We leave everything we don't want out the front. It soon goes. My brother had a small cabinet, clothes drawers, he left outside. After three days no one was interested so he put a big notice FOR SALE £10 and it was gone in 30 minutes. The drawers were gone but he didn't get the tenner! lol

Some people won't take an item for free but are happy to nick an item for sale.

Ao.com will do next day delivery and take the old one away.

The repair guy did indeed condem the old machine, got one from AO.com and it was delivered the next day. So managed to go on holiday no problem  for sugesting them

just leave the old one out the front the pikies will soon nick it for you

Me and the wife left a knackered (drum rusted and leaking) washing machine out on the corner plot of our house for the scrap man to take and went out for the day. We called in at our parents on the way home and they said "Guess what? We were driving past your house earlier and someone had dumped a washing machine outside so we put it in the car and brought it home". Fooking pikies!

By the way, there is a £15 extra charge for removing the old one and this goes for each of the extra services they offer :damn:
