Anyone near London/Surrey ever been there. Apparently it's been used as a stunt place for bikers for over 20 years. I was looking for a place to learn wheelies but obviously didn't want to do it on the road. I'm not sure if the land is private though. I've seen lots of pictures of bikes on the airfield so it can't be fenced off. Any info appreciated :)

It's perfect for practising both wheelies & stoppies but is a little gravely in places. It is now owned (the runway) by an Insurance company but the surrounding land is owned by a local farmer. The farmer gets a bit funny about people riding on it and sometimes comes and kicks you off. Someone hit the barrier in the middle a few years back and is now brown bread!

It's easy to get to, go down the A3 pass the jnc for the M25 and move over into the slow lane. You will see a lake on the left then just before you come to a foot bridge over the A3 turn left down a dead end lane. It's really easy to miss. At the end of this road there are loads of logs covering the entrance, scrape past these and your in. Go to the right once your in and up a slight hill and you will see the runway. Keep to the right of the runway as the farmers house is down the left...

That was from 2003 though...

If there's nothing stopping you going in and there are no signs telling you not to be there then it's fair game. :-)

The only picture I could find of the entrance is from a youtube video. It doesn't look like any warning signs but I'm not sure if that's a step or some sort of barrier...

Go and have a look! I mean, it might be houses by now anyway...

If you get on it and you're asked to leave, just leave. :-)

Just remember if it's publicly accessible then the rules of the road could still apply!

I went there in about 2001 or 2002, it's gravelly and there are barriers placed across most of the runway at various intervals so you can only go down a side narrow space of it, if it was good I would have gone back by now!.

You can see the barriers on google maps. There is a part of the airfield that doesn't have a barrier that's like 600m long. A bit of gravel doesn't matter either as it's a supermoto.

Stop poncing about and get on it then! :-)

Just be prepared to be nice and leave if the farmer comes out [strikeout]with his gun in his hand[/strikeout] [strikeout]and shows you his weapon[/strikeout] [strikeout]gives you both barrels[/strikeout] [strikeout]shoots you with his load[/strikeout] and asks you politely to vacate the property.
