Physy Posted September 29, 2015 Share Posted September 29, 2015 (edited) I have looked through them allAnd I can safely say that the search function on here is deadly..So I am going to throw this one out there.I cant see, and yet every vehicle from car to semi oncoming is blinded. I've been to the Vosa board at three separate garages and even teasdale's are scratching their heads on this one. Its perfectly set up. Does Not rise or drop with the bumpy ass roads round here.. and still, I am getting flashed. Honked at and other general forms of abuse.. second hand McD's strawb milkshake is not a good look.I do a hell of a lot of night riding. Covering up to 50 miles per night at the least. (To commute to work and back)And I am truly at a loss.I have spoken to yamaha. They were about as much use as a rat in a kitchen (Animated films aside)Its 12 plate version. So classic bowl light.Can anyone suggest an alternative fitting or dual light rig. as google is giving me no pleasure at all. No, as I say. they are getting blinded.. it seems that there is a secondary focus point giving a halo effect to the fitting. Did a test this morning at about 5am against the side of a truck trailer and it would seem that there is a bright ring of focus'd light at 50m+ distance ahead of me, yet, this light is working its way off at an angle and acts to f up the peripheral vision of those in front. If I turn the full beam on I get blinded by the ridiculous led on the dash. It's brighter than the sun and gets twice as hot. Daft I know. I've just got off the phone with yamaha.. Again. And they have agreed (only after I got a little cross and went through them like a dose of salts) to take a look at it and possibly replace the whole front section if it is found to be faulty. Physy Posted October 15, 2015 Author Share Posted October 15, 2015 Finally got to the end of the bloody problem. The damned lense had a "prismic fault". Fancy term for it was cross eyed. Creating a halo effect that was causing a distortion in the short wave light functionality of the beam resulting in a halo effect for oncoming traffic.AKA Yamaha. f**ked up and say that it isn't their fault.The fix. Complete new headlight fitting and having to do some serious rewiring because like hell am I going to trust another one from those pillocks. Not looking forward to this. Because, as simple as it may seem... I'm going to have to try and balance the outline power with one of the worst wiring looms that I have to date seen.. and I have worked on a morris marina..
