Rusty Exhaust

I have a little Kymco Pulsar 125 with a black painted exhaust, only bought it last year but the exhaust pipe is going rusty. Obviously cant just put normal black paint on it as it would burn off. I have also tried the paint you use to paint a log burner but found that not to be waterproof. Any ideas what I should use please.

It's probably a good idea to take the exhaust off (do they come off?) and give it a good clean, ideally strip it completely so you've a clean slate to work with. No point repainting it if the rust will be back in no time and causing the paint to come off again.

I still rate the CK1 125 naked sport, just the pulsar needs to be destroyed

I would say "and Lexmoto", but I know at least one former member of the forum is working on that so it probably isn't necessary to say anything

We're waiting untill the rally Stu :D

Aw Stu... as to the O.P. a New exhaust would be cheaper and easier. painting the exhaust make sure you use heat resistant paint, and sand/scuff the surface of the exhaust first to give the paint something to bind on

I looked at my sinnis exhaust (it rusted to crap in months) tried to remove the rust with all sorts of cleaners and tricks, nothing. paint over it or get a new one really your only 2 options.
