Another boring car question, I'm looking for a set of steel wheels with winter tyres. This is for obvious reasons as I do a lot of mileage and my car is the difference between making money and not, also I'm working up in Scotland this month and January so I'd rather be prepared for the worst.

Anyway I found a set of wheels with tyres on eBay but I'm not 100% sure if they fit so I'd like some advice if possible, I'll add a link to the eBay ad and the fitment specs for my car.

Vauxhall and Opel are one and the same manufacturer. We call them Vauxhalls in the UK and the rest of Europe call them Opel but they are the same car.

Look at the tyre sizes you currently have fitted, if you currently have 195's fitted, then both wheels and tyres should fit without probem.

I do not see a problem

yes they will fit

but if you are after safety then buy some money for decent tyres and not cheap ones!!

you can get wheels and Nokian WR D4 tyres for £308 delivered to your door from oponeo

the Nokian WR D4's are about the best you can get

or cheaper still from tyreleader!!

I would check the tyre sizes though as 195's are a bit skinny for those rims

They get really good reviews online Stu, I can spend more if it means better quality. I currently have 225/45/r17 wasn't sure if the width would make much difference hence asking on here. Can you send me a link to those please stu I'm lazy :D

If push comes to shove I can just get the tyres to fit my current rims I was thinking it would be easier having 2 sets of wheels.

Yeah that's what i do. I have a second set of wheels and tyres and just swap them over. Winter tyres do make a huge difference too.

its a bit of a pain in the arse to link on those two sites to be honest!! but I will try

I wouldn't stick tyres on your rims they will be expensive plus the cost of fitting twice a year! it will be cheaper to buy rims! and you won't get as much grip either

personally I would go for 205/55R16 the tyres diameter is almost the same!

I'm guessing you have an Astra? what year?

Cheers stu I'll have a look at them. I was thinking it would be easier to have 2 sets anyway it's not going to take up anymore space than just the tyres alone.

59 plate Astra Sri 5 door last of the old shape.
