The Voyager Posted January 15, 2016 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Pulled front end apart tonight. Yoke. Forks. Disc and break. Whilst taking the disc off the wheel I noticed all 5 nuts seemed to have a lock tight on them. Or so I thought. Each nut give a snap before coming loose. There was no edging. Chrissb6 Posted January 15, 2016 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Hi, l would suggest you get yourself a workshop manual for the bike, it's easy enough to strip down a bike, putting it back correctly is critical. The bolts in question may or may not require lock tight one things for sure they need to be torqued up correctly, don't be guessing that's plain dangerous. iangaryprice Posted January 15, 2016 Share Posted January 15, 2016 As above you need to torque safety critical bolts.Brake discs usually have "stud/thread lock" on them. be careful how much you use, too much and you will struggle to get the bolts out next time.The bolts need to be degreased for the thread lock to work.Also make sure the back surface of the disc and the wheel are absolutely clean.
