Hi All,

I'm after anything really for carrying luggage on my 125, a tail bag or panniers are preferred. I don't have a lot to spend as I'm a bit skint currently but if anyone has anything lying around they don't really use anymore I'd be happy to purchase it from you :).

Thanks

Do you need to have some kind of bracket behind them Stu?

Those do look good actually! I only looked at auctions on eBay! [emoji85]. Same question as Oasis though, do these things strap on or need a bracket?

scour ebay there is loads to be had just make sure they are willing to post them as a lot look cheap but they wont post :?

I'm heading away for a long weekend soon and wondered what opinions were as to pros and cons over a tail bag Vs panniers?

I've always previously worn a backpack and want to avoid that if possible.

I have never used a tail pack so cant compare them but I have used soft panniers a few times!

I used them on a trip to germany and reached speeds of more than 120mph and I couldn't tell they where there!

Just make sure they are strapped on properly

The argument as I've read it is that a tailpack loads the weight up high, when as a rule of thumb you want the weight down as low as possible, while on the flip side panniers create more drag than a tailpack. That being said, the panniers on my BMW were the least aerodynamic things ever designed, and I never really noticed any difference when using them. Oh, but there's a point - panniers can be a bugger for filtering. Depends how big they are, though. Personally I prefer panniers, leaves the rear seat free to tie a rolled tent or dry bag across the top. Now I just need to bodge a little frame to stop them sitting on my exhaust and melting...

RIGHT that's it. I was thinking yesterday about how my bike still doesn't have a name, and this settles it.

My bike will henceforth be known as Badger.

Time to buy some decals.

These would fit perfectly on my side panels...

Now if I can only find a Badger puppet, I could cable tie its head to the top of my mudguard

Back on topic, never had problems with panniers on the bike with no frames.
