The 2 Chinese lads got caught speeding in the town by Russian Police with speed gun, not used to it, does not seem to happen in China, the Russian Police wanted $5000 off them.

Daaaaamn that's a hefty fine

Rule of thumb when travelling in any part of Russia: do everything possible to stay on the good side of the police, and where possible, avoid them altogether. Big fans of making up reasons to confiscate passports and other documentation then imposing an on-the-spot fine for their return. And of course, if you refuse to give the documents to them or insist on paying the fine at a police station... You may well get a swift beating. And still lose your documents. And your money. And potentially be arrested.

These bike have now covered some 9000k+ on this trip, without a problem except for the Continental Tyres wearing a little strangely, which I am told is due to all the straight line riding, they are looking forward to all the twisting roads of Europe.

You might need something like that if it had been on a seat and probably pressed against the tank for 9000k+

Tonight they are on the boat between Norway and Sweden, should be in UK in a couple of days, only one problem so far, the German Continental tyres fitted as standard, are not up to the job, they have had to fit Pirelli tyres
