Guest
Basically, I took my gilera dna home today, noticed it was leaking Coolant.Took it to my mums mate, whos a car mechanic, and doesnt have the guts to open a bike engine, so thought I would ask here.He says it's leaking through the engine and gearbox? He also said he tightened a couple of wires or something (as earlier it was looking straight under the petrol tank, now its further down)Is this a common fault on these bikes, or any bike for that matter?Cheers in advance. Voodoo
Firstly check your coolant level because my intial thought is its your coolant overflow or petrol overflow pipes that he's relocated.
Guest
I don't think he moved any wires at-all.Just tightened some loose ones up.

Are you sure they were wires and not pipes? You should have a pipe or two sticking out the bottom of your bike that just dangle in thin air! Guest
he said something about tying up jubilee somethings? I dunno.I'm only young, no knowledge on bikes.Cheers for the help so far though, appreciated!
Voodoo
Its making sense now, jubilee clips are usually used to tighten pipes up. I'd just keep checking your coolant level. If it is leaking coolant then just follow the pipes coming out of your radiator and try and find the exact spot where they are leaking. Guest
But are you sure its the pipes that are leaking? And how would I fix them if i found the spot?

I'm not sure if its the pipes that are leaking, you need to take things one step at a time. The most likely thing would be the pipes and also the easiest thing to fix, so start there. If its the actual pipe thats leaking, then you'd need a new pipe, but if its where the pipe is connected then maybe just tightening the jubilee clip would work.
