Is it worth getting a alarm fitted if so which one? I have a ground anchor and oxford hardcore chain and padlock... plus I have a oxford alarmed disc lock thatcham aproved

No , don't bother with an alarm on your bike, going off for no reason drain your battery waist of time... spend your money on getting your garage alarmed .

Don't bother with any alarms. When was the last time you went running when you heard a car/bike/burglar alarm? Exactly. Ground anchor and good chains are the way to go. Thieves aren't bothered by alarms, it's a quick snip with a nail clipper to disable them. A chain and ground anchor means using an angle grinder and that means making a lot of noise...and attracting unwanted attention. Even better use 2 chains. I despair at the amount of reports of bikes that get stolen because they weren't chained to something.
