pitintheuk Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Hello AllI dropped my VFR1200 OEM pannier from barely above a meter high and it broke, like well broken. The other Pannier is already broken. At the cost of a pair of OEM honda panniers and the fragility of them combined to the hard fact I officially got 2 left hands. I am looking for alternatives and accepted the fact new ones might not look as good.GIVI seems all around the place: but can I drop the box and only deal with a scratch? Also, owning some SW-Motech stuff, I know this company build high quality bike equipments. Any other brands you know or use?pit Quote
Throttled Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 My Givi V35 survived sliding along a road for about 20 feet with minor scratches. I have a black rubberised plastic car bumper strip on it for extra protection now. Quote
Guest Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 Got pictures of just how broken they are? Quote
Stu Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 I have shad panniers and one of those survived a drop in Germany With the weight of the bike a rider and pillion and 10 days worth of gear all resting on the pannier Quote
Gs triple black Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Bmw panniers seam to last well in most events Quote
RantMachine Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Not the vario panniers! Those things crumple like a house of cards if you drop the bike with them expanded Quote
