fastbob Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Does anyone know for certain wether the complete fan unit from a gpz600r will bolt straight onto a 98 ER5 ? Please no speculation or "Can't see why not" etc. just reply if you have actually done this. Many thanks. Quote
ThePhatomfart Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 If you have got the part number, stick it in here to see if they cross over https://www.bike-parts-kawa.com/kawasaki/search-parts.html Quote
fastbob Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 Part number is 59502 in both drawings but they look quite different which is why I am seeking actual first hand knowledge. Thanks anyway. Quote
fastbob Posted December 31, 2016 Author Posted December 31, 2016 It would be seemingly easy to transfer the motor and fan from one housing to another but the little nut that secures the fan is a bugger to shift. Goes in from the back so the fan has to come off. Quote

fastbob Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 Thanks to all who responded . I'm sure all your replies were very well intended. Regrettably I must refer back to my original post where I exclusively asked for first hand practical knowledge . I'm basically trying to establish two things. One,will the whole assembly from any Kawasaki fit straight onto a 98 ER5? Two ,will the motor and fan from any Kawasaki transfer from one housing structure to another and still fit onto an ER5? If nobody reading this has actually done this then there is no need ,however well intentioned,to respond. Happy new year. Quote
fastbob Posted January 1, 2017 Author Posted January 1, 2017 Special thanks to Tim R for mentioning GPZ 500 s ,its a perfect match! I've just bought one on ebay for £20 . By the way, I use Cradley Kawasaki's website to view parts diagrams, very helpful. Thanks again! Quote

Thanks again!Er500 is the newer unfaired version of the old gpz500Used to make use of that on my old gpz Cmsnl.com is good as well especially for parts comparison on some of the lesser /older versions of bikes Quote
