Nazzurro19 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 So after weeks of wanted adds for a bandit/sv/fazer/fz6/z750/hornet on literally every website , facebook you name it i come across a guy selling a 2001 honda hornet with 9000 miles on it for......£1000 several hours after lots of conversing and sending pics/videos (the bike was over 100 miles away) i decided to take the 2hr trip to go view, after a veiwing and a test ride we exchanged the moneys and i was ready to bring the bike back home - now this was the most scariest and worst ride of my life, i had like 90mph cross winds, open fields and roads around 70 miles of the journey, it then started to rain and every truck that passed i almost got blown into the road or into the bush, i was holding on for life and as for corners i pottted around them at about 15 mph, so the journey home should have been a 1hr 50min ride but due to the weather and the fact anything over 45/50mph made the bike feel like it was going down i made it home in 5hrs and 12 mins! It was still worth it though i loved it even though i felt i was going to die at many times hahaSorry the picture is shocking! Ill be cleaning and getting pics the weekend Quote
tuktuk Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Great bikes. Loved the one i learnt to ride on and looked at buying one after i passed. Quote
Hoggs Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 glad you made it home safe! luckily I picked my bike up from 5 mins down the road here's to good weather so you can enjoy it properly Quote
Guest Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 I rode one in Nov 2004 at the MCN Butlins bash. An excellent handling bike with a very tractable motor. You can use a higher gear than normal in corners and use the torque to pull it round with less risk of a skid.A really good bike. Quote
Liveware Problem Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Very nice! I just got a 2000 hornet a few weeks back, same colour too (the best colour) Enjoy Quote
NearOn Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Great bike! You can easily ride it for years without feeling need to move on unless you want something more suited to touring/longer rides, I've had two and both were superb.I also paid 1k for the last one I had and had to ride it back from Doncaster to Norfolk on a freezing day in February. Not quite the winds you had though, enjoy! Quote
