KWCFC Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Hi guysCompleted my CBT today ahead of my DAS course.Overall I thought it went well and was I very enjoyable experience. I feel like I am taking to it well despite have no experience on a bike other than 30minute assessment. The only thing I feel like I am struggling to get to grips with is the emergency stop? I am finding it very challenging to do it without skidding. I know why I am skidding, because I am applying way too much pressure on the rear brake, (as the instructor says) but it is so hard not to as my instinct is not to tap the brake when I am trying to stop immediately!Any advice welcome but its only my first day on a bike so will hopefully pick it up soon. tbone.inniss Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Talk the braking process through in your head front brake , after front dips then rear . Before stalling clutch then change gears and obsSent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
tbone.inniss Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 If not cheat float foot over rear and just use front and engine brakingSent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
Hoggs Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 hello! I'd say 2 things 1. imagine there's a butterfly under the brake pedal you're trying to stop it flying away not squish it 2. the emergency stop is about stopping in a controlled way not the shortest distance. focus on the technique over the distance Quote
