Short boots with leather jeans

You know how leather jeans have short legs that end above your ankles? I've never had short boots but I'm assuming they're all too short for leather jeans and you need long boots or you'll have exposed ankles that'll look odd. Is that right or are there some short boots that work?

You just need leather socks.

My bike jeans are an inch longer than normal jeans, so that they're the right length when sat on the bike, but I still wouldn't wear short boots with them: I'm not happy that they'd keep my ankles together in a bad off as well as longer ones would.
