Guest
Hi all I have a 125 with rear drum brakes. They work really well and have recently been adjusted so are very responsive with no stopping issues at all. But for some reason they make a really bad grinding noise like metal sounding. They're only a year oldAny ideas on what it could beThanks
fastbob
Have you looked ? To be honest its no good a bunch of people on a forum offering suggestions because you're going to have to remove the wheel and inspect the shoes anyway. I don't mean to be unhelpful, and I'm sure you'll figure it out , good luck.

Guest
I'm quite new to biking, how do I tell if they're worn outThanks
fastbob
Post a close up picture of them from a side view and I'll tell you if they are worn out. If , as you describe, there is a metal to metal grinding noise I would have thought it would be fairly obvious if they were worn out. barker
after a while brake dust accumulates in the drum this can make a noise try pushing the bike backwards and see if this helps but you will need to clean out the drum no mater what
