Lateralus Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 As an aside from a couple of other discussions, what tyre pressure gauges do you lot recommend? I'm planning to buy one, but just found this rattling around in the boot of my car. Feels like cheap metal-looking plastic, so not sure how accurate its likely to be! Quote
Throttled Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Halfords digital gauge, much easier to read and going by a comparison with the local garage's fancy machine, accurate. Quote
raesewell Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 The pencil type gauges are amazingly accurate, I use a PCL Digital Tyre inflatorhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PCL-Digital-Tyre-Inflator-With-Calibration-Certificate-And-1-8M-Hose-/132194264019?epid=535060807&hash=item1ec76463d3:g:c3UAAOSwSclXK4uCI keep one of these on the bikehttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Michelin-12279-Programmable-Digital-Tyre-Pressure-Gauge-With-Led-Storage-Pouch-/272483582424?epid=1357392277&hash=item3f714981d8:g:fLMAAOSwxCxT9d05The PCL is very very accurate and comes with a calibration certificate. I check the Michelin against the PCL to see what the difference is and I can make the necessary adjustment in my head when on the road. I almost never check my tyres when travelling unless I detect a problem. Quote
Tango Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Halfords digital gauge, much easier to read and going by a comparison with the local garage's fancy machine, accurate. I have one of these on my key lanyard, so it's always with me when I'm out on the bike....... Quote
Mawsley Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 I've found the pencil-style ones to be the most accurate and reliable. The cheap digital ones always break for me. Quote
