Tank protector over a decal

Opinions please!

Bike has a red and blue decal over the tank that my jacket zip is going to destroy over time. I have a clear tank pad in the garage but im abit worried that once i put it on, it will rip the decal off if i ever try to remove it.

Anyone had this issue before?

Might you be overthinking this? Cost of a replacement decal would be like a fiver or something if it's anything like the KTM power part decal costs...

I'd shove the protector on and in the future if you ever need to replace it just bear in mind you might need a new decal too?

Should have got a genuine BMW one with the bike!

Take it back and tell them to fit it..
