Ansatedmem Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 just wondering if anyone has had problems with their rpm gauge not going to 0 when the throttle is fully off. I baught a new 2013 ybr 125 in July 2017 but this has only just started to happen. Is there an easy fix or is there something more sinister to it. Gauge goes to 0 when bike isn't running.Any advice greatly appreciated. Quote
Joeman Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 With the engine running it shouldnt be showing 0rpm.It should be about 750rpm, so just below the 1. Quote
Ansatedmem Posted September 3, 2017 Author Posted September 3, 2017 Thanks for putting my mind at ease. It's at about 1.5 is this still ok? Thanks again for any help these are probably silly questions I just wan to make sure I deal with it before the warranty expires Quote
Westbeef Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 1500 is ok, I had a quick Google and it seems your bike should idle between 1300-1500, some bikes have an adjustment screw which you can change the idle speed with. However my CBF125 didn't. Quote
Ansatedmem Posted September 3, 2017 Author Posted September 3, 2017 You are a star!! Was googling myself but couldn't find the right words! Thanks again greatly appreciated. Quote
Hoggs Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 it would be a problem if it was showing 0 Yes the engine idling is still running so will register an RPM as the engine is turning over. As beefy said 1500 is within the normal limits but as long as it doesn't sound stupidly loud or fast it'll be fine. Also you may get slight fluctuations depending on temperature - when you first start it I imagine it will idle slightly higher than after you've been riding it a while. Quote
