Guest Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 Had a ride this morning ended up at Super Sausage on the A5 at Potterspury near Towcester. Really nice food and - bonus! It didn't rain. If you've never been there, it's worth a look.http://supersausagecafe.co.uk/CheersS23. Quote
Tango Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 We've been there before and enjoyed it......but don't go there on a nice Sunday in the summer....you'll die of starvation before getting served!..... Quote
SlowBusa Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Not too far from meas Tango says LONG line for food when busy Quote
Guest Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Have any of you been to the Jack's Hill café? If you have, which is best? Or are they different? Quote
Bianco2564 Posted November 4, 2017 Posted November 4, 2017 Been to both loads.Food better at Super Sausage imo.Jack's hill have bike nights first Friday of each month, always good turnout. Quote
Mawsley Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Have any of you been to the Jack's Hill café? If you have, which is best? Or are they different? Jack’s Hill’s food is transport cafe fayre, not a fan of the burgers at all. Monthly meet attracts bikes during the summer but almost nobody goes in the dark months. Super Sausage is awesome. Food is ace, bike magazines to read and top decoration. When it’s busier there’s a quick serve shack in the car park. Yep, it gets stupidly busy - but that’s because it shits on Jack’s Hill. Quote

Mawsley Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 You pays your money, you makes your choice - but it's this Dark Ages mindset that colours the whole place in my book. What kind of moron thinks it's acceptable to charge people for using Debit cards in 2017? Quote
Bianco2564 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 That sucks. All they will get from me is a quid in cash for a cuppa. Quote

What kind of moron thinks it's acceptable to charge people for using Debit cards in 2017? They could of course raise their prices to cover the card costs.....but then everyone loses out. Our local pub won't take cards for less than £10 transactions. .....apparently this is because the banksters charge the pub for every card transaction. Again, the pub keep their prices down, so we can't complain. But I think the finger of scorn should be pointed at the banksters and not the traders IMHO...... Quote
Mawsley Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Banks are always going to charge for their services one way or another. If the cafe lobbed 5p on each food item they’d have it covered, make a healthy profit and no one would notice. Places that say “We’ll have to charge you for using that card” absolutely guarantee I’ll walk out without paying. Quote
