Unable to bite properly with new helmet

Recommended Posts

Hi, i just doing my CBT on Saturday and have already bought a helmet however i have noticed that my cheeks or pushed into my mouth when teeth are just a little open making me unable to close my jaw without awkwardness. i am aware that they need to be snug round my cheeks but not being able close my jaw without about a few seconds of adjustment mustn't be good if you fall off and end up biting your cheek off. my question is this normal for the checks to be pushed into the mouth a little?

Thanks in advance for any help :)

Welcome. I had that with a new helmet once. I just had to blow my cheeks out to compress the foam abit. With time it was ok.

I wouldnt buy a helmet if it didnt fit like this at first. The interiors mould to your face over time so if it fitted from the start it wouldnt fit too well later on.

Yeah, wear it til it fits.

I reckon that if you can get it on and off, and it doesn't give you a headache, then it's not too small.

It will give by about a quarter to half a size and mould to your shape.

It sounds like it fits just right. It will get easier and you will get used to it. :thumb:
