emmajaneg Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Hello! So I’ve just got my new YBR 125 a couple of days ago and it’s a bit different to my previous one. On the ignition there is an engine light (Amber/Brown coloured). I’m already having issues with it, as soon as I click into first gear, the engine light flashes 4 times quickly and then cuts out. I called a Yamaha technical person and he has said that it’s not code and it’s probably a side stand switch or something. ANYWAYS, I was wondering if any of you could tell me how you read the code? I have a list of what each code means but I’m not sure how to read the code from the flashes, just for the future! Thanks Quote
SometimesSansEngine Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 We had to do this when Magpie84 had some issues with her YBR. This post covers it:http://ybr125owner.blogspot.com/2014/06/yamaha-ybr-125-fault-codes.html (scroll down to "Codes are all 2 digit numbers , the first number will be read by long flashes of the light , the second number of the code with be in short flashes of the light) Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Needless to say, if you bought the bike from a dealer keep a contemporaneous record of faults reported to them and take the bike back. They usually have a limited warranty and some will try to fob you off until the warranty has expired. A contemporaneous record can show you reported a problem within the warranty period. Quote
