trcooke Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Good morning peeps,I'm on the lookout for a helmet cam and have come across this one that 'looks' decent enough:Sena PT10-10 Prism Tube Wi-Fi Action Camera for Motorcycle HelmetHas anyone any experience / opinions on it? Quote
RAYK47 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 That is a smart looking camera. Battery life is usually a concern for me though. Quote
trcooke Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 It does look smart, but manufacturers always like to have you think that. Was just wondering if anyone has any real life experience of using one? Battery life appears to be ok, one Amazon reviewer quoted it as being longer than the old model that had 2.5 hours life which would suit just fine. Quote
Bender Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Have a look at ghost drift x, battery life std is 5hrs Quote
trcooke Posted February 14, 2019 Author Posted February 14, 2019 Do you have the ghost? What do you think? Quote
Gerontious Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 for use on a motorcycle the battery life should be irrelevant. Quote
Bender Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Do you have the ghost? What do you think? Still trying to work that bit out, has good points and bad, I think for the price the the good outweigh the bad, hope to get some footage from it this weekend, lots of video on YouTube of it in use Quote
Bender Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 for use on a motorcycle the battery life should be irrelevant. If you have it stuck on your lid and you can't be arsed to plug your self into the bike it's important. Quote

If you have it stuck on your lid and you can't be arsed to plug your self into the bike it's important. I wouldn't plug myself into the bike. I would plug the camera in to a USB powerlet. and.. if it means that the battery is constantly topped up too.. for when I walk away from the bike then that is only a plus. no hardship unplugging heated gloves. no hardship unplugging a USB. Bender Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Still a cable and some thing else to faf on with and as the battery lasts 5 hrs I don't need to carry a USB charger, a small spare clip on battery that costs 24 quid is available should you fancy ridding 10hrs in one go, which I dont Quote
trcooke Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 I do not have a power plug of any description on my bike so it's battery all the way for me. I want to use primarily for my commute, which is about 40 mins each way, as evidence should I ever get caught up in any nonsense. Quote
